The Oak Park and River Forest High School Huskie Speech Team took third place at Hersey High School Mid-Winter Freeze Invitational Speech Tournament last weekend.
IHSA Regional Speech Team Public Performance is Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. in the Little Theatre. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
Third Place TEAM Trophy (40 points)
- 1st place – Ellie Bourgikos – Original Oratory and Briana A Williams – Oratorical Declamation
- 2nd place – Extemp John Stankovich and Impromptu. Isabelle Picciotti
- 3rd place – Dramatic Interpretation – Sophia Carlin and Special Occasion Speaking- Stephanie Carlin
- 4th place – Original Oratory – Mark Weissglass; Original Comedy – Stephanie Carlin; Extemp- Parthenia Gharavi; and Improv Duet Acting – Brii Williams & Stephanie Carlin
- 6th place – Dramatic Interpretation – Isabelle Picciotti; Improv Duet Acting – Olivia Zapater-Charrette & Mark Weissglass
- And a few just missed finals-Maeghan Sullivan, Stephanie Guralnick, Gabe Girson, Lia Bauer-Goulden, and Erin McCammond-Watts, and Gaby Gonzalez-Stuver

The next Invitational Tournament is next Saturday, Jan. 31 at Glenbrook North High School.
