Everyone experiences some form of stress during their life, but what if you could learn effective ways to reduce it, feeling better and more in control of your life?
Thrive Counseling Center is offering a Stress Reduction through Mindfulness & Meditation eight-week course meeting on Tuesday nights from 6:30-8:30pm at Thrive Counseling Center (120 S. Marion St. Oak Park, IL). The course helps participants understand stress and the impact it has on the mind and body. It also gives participants the proper tools to reduce stress in their own lives.
Specifically, participants will learn:
* How to become "mindful" or aware of the present moment
* Meditation, mindful eating, mindful breathing, and individually tailored techniques.
* Mindfulness techniques to decrease conflict, pain, anxiety, depression and daily stressors.
Meditation techniques will be taught using guided and unguided practices. Participants will also be given instructional materials and an audio CD so they can practice learned techniques at home.
The next Stress Reduction through Mindfulness & Meditation course begins on January 29, 2013. The fee is $150 for the eight-week course and includes all course materials.
