Open your eyes to the gift of today

As I got out of bed this morning, I remembered this gratitude post and shifted my thoughts - instead of thinking about all the work awaiting me, I thought about how much I love my work. It was cold outside, yet as I peeked out the window I saw blue skies. My husband had walked our dog. My daughter had one more day at home before heading back to college. My house was warm.

Cultivating gratitude requires an intention to open your eyes to the gifts of each day, "and let them flow through, then everyone that you meet on this day will be blessed by you - by your eyes, by your smile, by your touch, just by your presence."

What simple things are you grateful for today?

Thank you for sharing this lovely film, Melissa! I loved the images from Chicago and around the world. An "attitude of gratitude" is an important thing to cultivate for our mental health.
