Sunday, August 26 offers two weekend "do something different" opportunities in our sister-villages of Riverside and Brookfield. First, you can take a "Walking Tour" in the historical and beautiful village of Riverside guided by a member of the Frederick Law Olmsted Society. It begins at 2pm and the meeting point is the downtown Riverside train station, 90 Bloomingbank Road. You'll see and learn about some of Riverside's most architechurally significant homes. Tickets are $10 and more details at 708-442-7675.
From 4 - 8pm, and only for those 21+, you can attend the "Zoo Brew" at world-famous Brookfield Zoo. There'll be over 40 beers, live music by the Modern Day Romeos, and you can participate in a silent auction. Tickets are $45 and $35 for zoo members and include parking, all day zoo admission, twenty 3 ounce samples, and even more. Check www.BrookfieldZoo.org for details. If you can't make it but love craft beer, check our oakpark.com video guide, "Beginner's Guide to Craft Beer" for tips and suggestions. It features Charlie Molinaro at Oak Park's Marion Street Cheese Market. They carry over 100 USA brands, featuring Chicago and regional brewers. Find it on our Home page.
