What to do on Sunday, August 14? You can choose from The Oak Park Cycle Club's Second Sunday Ride. It kicks-off at Whole Foods in River Forest with a snack and gives you a coupon for free coffee when you return. Three paces are offered; Moderate - about 12 miles per hour, Training - about 17 mph, and Distance - 15 - 20 mph. Helmets are required. Meet at Whole Foods, 7245 Lake St at 8am. Or on Sunday from Noon - 3pm, go to the ARC Building at 18 Chicago Ave. in Oak Park for Derby Lite Get-In-Gear Demo Day. It's Free, and they ask that you please bring a helmet. There will be loaner skates and some protective gear available. Derby Lite members will be there for demonstrations and skating tips.
Too physical, then take a summer stroll on August 14 at 1pm at the Trailside Museum of Natural History, 738 Thatcher in River Forest. You'll see birds, bees, butterflies, and more. Go to their site at www.fpdcc.com for more information.
Don't want anything active - then take yourself over to The Summer Concert at Scoville Park, Lake & Oak Park Ave., at 5:30pm on Sunday for the season's last Free concert. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and listen to the fiery music of spanish guitars with Guittara Azul. They perform Rumba, Flamenco, Latin Jazz and more.
