One of the newest artistic venues in Oak Park, Open Door Theater at 902 S. Ridgeland has a big weekend of entertainment for you.  On Friday, June 15 from 8 - 10pm it's the return engagement of "Cindy Fee & Cin City" performing an evening of Social and Political Music and Commentary.  Saturday, also starting at 8pm, you'll hear  the "Tony Morrison Quartet"  doing straight-up Jazz from the Great American songbook featuring the music of Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, and others.  For more information and tickets, call 708-342-0810 or visit their site at www.opendoorrep.org

Also on Saturday, June 16, you can hear "Jack Rossiter-Munley" one of Oak Park's own, perform Rock and Blues at Unity Temple's, 3rd Saturday Coffeehouse at 875 Lake Street.  Open Mike (acoustic only) starts at 8pm (7:30pm for sign-up) with performance at 9pm.  A $3- $5 donation is appreciated.  

Kitchen Girl Coffee House is holding its monthly performance at St. Christopher Church, 545 S. East in Oak Park on Saturday.  "Catfish Keith", a legendary Country Blues performer and slide guitar master, will perform.  Take a listen to the attached clip.  Details at www.kitchengirloakpark.com .

Don't forget that it's Summer Concerts in Scoville Park, Oak Park Ave. and Lake St., on Sunday, June 17 from 5:30 - 7pm.  Come hear "Spoke For", a modern band who cover all kinds of musical genres.  Bring your blankets or chairs and enjoy this Free Event.  See www.oakparkparks.com for a summer schedule of all concerts.
