It's Memorial Day already and time for the Annual River Forest Memorial Day Parade. The parade begins at 11 a.m. from Constitution Park, 7715 Greenfield, and will move South on Ashland Ave. to Lake St., then West to Keystone Park. A special service will begin at approximately 1 p.m. in Keystone Park. You'll see marching bands, floats, and the friendly people from the Wednesday Journal and OakPark.com.

Another rememberance celebration, A Special Memorial Day Salute, will be held in Oak Park in Scoville Park, Oak Park Ave. and Lake St. at 10 a.m. Many of our Veterans will participate in this moving recognition of our country and those who have served its needs. There will be music, a benediction, a rifle salute, performances of Civil War songs, and of course, our national anthem.
