A weekend of film, music, and more

On Saturday, 2/16 at 7:30pm, come to the "Third Saturday Coffee House" at Unity Temple, 875 Lake St. in Oak Park. Come for the poetry and an all acoustic, open-mike. Donations are appreciated. Info at 708-660-9376.
If you're getting ready for the Oscars, "Oscarthon" is for you from 9am - 4pm at the main Oak Park Library. Maybe you've seen the top films or maybe this is your chance at this Free Event. Screenings include, "Paranorman" at 9am, "Moonrise Kingdom" at 10:50am, "Frankenweenie" at 12:30pm, and "Flight" at 2:15pm. Details at www.oppl.org .
On Sunday, 2/17 at 2pm it's "The New York Strip" presented by Those Thrilling Days of Yesteryear, a radio-reenactment group. This is a Damon Runyon, who's best known for the classic, "Guys and Dolls", retrospective. This Free Event is held at The Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. At the same time,
"The Savannah Disputation" is performed by The Free Readers Ensemble at the Nineteenth Century Club, 178 Forest in Oak Park. Free Event. Go to www.freereaders.com for details.
Also on Sunday, 2/17 at 2pm, come hear "The Moon Concert" presented by Kerry Leung at the Forest Park Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. Celebrate the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Snake, and listen to classic, Chinese music played on traditional Chinese instruments.
