How about a concert for a good cause - "Rising Stars", the best musicians from Roosevelt University perform as part of the Unity Temple Concert Series, 875 Lake St.on Saturday, 11/5. You'll hear the best of the best at 7:30pm. Remember this series is brought to you by the Unity Temple Restoration Foundation which works to maintain the number 1 tourist attraction in Oak Park. On Sunday, 11/6 from 10am - 4pm, you can start your holiday shopping when the Oak Park Women's Exchange holds their "37th Annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair" at Fenwick High School, 505 Washington Blvd. This holiday gala has something for everyone on your list, and for you, too.
Maybe you'd enjoy looking at time and space in different media forms. If so, go to the "Geography of Somewhere" exhibit at the Ferguson Art Gallery at Concordia University, 7400 Augusta in River Forest. The gallery is open from 2 - 4pm on Saturday, 11/5 and Sunday, 11/6. It's also open Monday - Friday from 9am - 7pm and it's Free. This exhibit continues thruough January, 2012. Maybe a flim and, even better, a discussion with the producer and director is something you'd enjoy. Come over to the main Oak Park Library on Sunday, 11/6 at 1:30pm and see "Chicago Heights", an award-winning documentary which examines social justice in a Chicago suburb.
