"The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot is a fascinating examination of this woman's life. The author has been interviewed on many tv programs, NPR, and her book is one of Oprah's favorites. It's also on all the best-seller lists. The author tells the story of Ms. Lacks whose cells were taken, without her permission and knowledge, by her doctors. The cells never died, and they launched a medical revolution and a mult-million-dollar industry - unbeknownst to her children. When they did find out, their lives were changed.
